Guild Conduct Rules
  • These are the Rules for the Rangers of Ithilien. All these rules are in addition to any Guild Wars rules found at http://www.guildwars.com/ or with the game CD itself. All rules are subject to change at anytime without any notice.

These rules aren't meant as limitations for our current members. If you are a member of this guild you'll find it's not so much that you know the rules, but that they come as common sense to you already. These rules are meant to show prospective members what they should already hold true before joining. If these rules all make sense to you, you'll likely be a good Ranger if Ithilien.
Know and use the Chain of Command
  • Under the guild leader, we have the guild captains. Each of these Captains, in turn, may elect several authoritive positions within his or her branch. It's up to the guild captains to organize these branches outside of the limited game mechanics. Every conflict or problem should be resolved at the lowest level on the chain of command as possible. Captains are responsible for problems in their branch. If there is a conflict between branches that the two captains cannot resolve, then the guildmaster will oversee. The guildmaster reserves the right to overturn any decision made by captains. In turn, captains reserve the right to overturn any decision made be their appointed officials. Every member has right to his or her fair say. Members can at any time "appeal" to the next level up on the chain of command. However this should be considered hard before doing. If the guildmaster has to get involved and finds no legitimate to overturn the decision, he may laugh wholeheartedly at you ;) We have tried to create a guild with select few players who we don't believe will involve themselves in petty and irrelevant arguments. Rangers of Ithilien will not stand divided against themselves, so it's important to lay out the executive process from the start. Hopefully every member in Rangers of Ithilien will treat one other with great amounts of respect and honor, and it will rarely be necessary to pull rank on fellow members.
    Be Fair With Loot
  • If something reserved for any player (within or without of the guild) becomes available to take off the ground, make sure the original owner of that item doesn't mind your taking it. It's rare, but sometimes a player can't get to his loot before the reservation times out. Additionally, don't leave a party member dead simply to wait out a reservation timer so you can take an item.
    No PvP Complaints!
  • Emotions can run high in combat, but do your best to keep a cool head. There's no need to accuse the other team of cheating or to consider their tactics cheap. If a specific issue needs to be discussed, bring it up to a guild captain after the match. It may even be beneficial to bring accusations of cheating first to the captains to avoid misinterpretation or unnecessary reporting.
    No Begging!
  • Begging, along with cheating and relentless insulting, lowers the moral of all Rangers of Ithilien, and Destroys our guild's reputation. Remember, you are at all times representing the Rangers of Ithilien. Out of respect for your fellow members, please help us maintain a healthy reputation.
    No Frivolous Ranked GvG
  • With enough party members, any guild member can start a ranked GvG battle. Feel free to do this at any time to practice or try to gain rank for the guild. If you're just looking for an instance to die in, you need to go elsewhere. GvG battles can be a place where you expect to die, but do your best to learn, and give an attempt while you're there.
    Be Aware of your conduct
  • This is a very fun game; the vast amounts of role-playing and characteristics you can assume make for a great experience. Let's not ruin it for ourselves and everyone else. Let's keep it all in Fun!
