If I'm going to be playing UO anywhere, it's going to be at Burstfire for now. I'll be playing under the name "SnowCarve" again. I'm not sure I'll be active in the forums, but certainly look for me in game or tell me to expect you! The official Burstfire UO instructions for joining are strange. They involve downloading UOGateway and failing patches. My instructions may be strange, as well, but for those of us that are used to editing our client files we should feel right at home:
Optional start: A fresh install of one of the 2D versions of UO.
1) Download the following file to your computer (46MB):

2) Extract the contents to a folder and rename the extracted files as follows:

3) Move the renamed files to your Ultima Online directory which is located, by default, here:
C:\Program Files\Ultima Online
Overwrite the existing files as needed.
4) Get the correct client. Many will work, but 2.0.3 is one of the best. Download:

5) Unzip the client to the Ultima Online directory. Name the extracted file to client.exe and replace the existing client.exe
6) Prevent UO patching. Download:
uopatch.zip
7) Unzip the uopatch to the Ultima Online directory, replacing the existing uopatch.exe (or back up the old one)
8) Register for an account at the Burstfire website, ignoring all other instructions:

9) Optional: You might not like the character screen or the status bar. Ask SnowCarve for a copy of his verdata if you would like a more "normal" looking set of artwork.
